Beware the dope cat. All it takes is a whiff of catnip to put an innocent feline on the road to ruin. The nip is but a stepping stone to more hardcore “drugs” – things like laser pointers and elaborate cat puzzles that will push your pet to the edge of insanity.
Happy National Accordion Bewareness Month. Yes, it’s a real thing 😉
When it comes to maligned instruments, the accordion is second only to bagpipes due to its unusual and some might say ghastly sound. I don’t share this opinion and rather enjoy the sound of a good squeezebox from time to time (except when played in a subway by an enslaved monkey). When my wife informed me it was National Accordion Awareness Month I felt the need to produce a cartoon on the topic, albeit from a Grinsane perspective. Accordion cartoons are actually an odd little subgenre unto themselves with the reigning master of accordion cartoons unsurprisingly being Piraro.
One thing for sure – the ghost is this cartoon is stoked to still be jamming the accordion decades after his doom, and his spectral cat is still feeling the groove, too!

Ready, Aim… Glurk. Glurk. Glurk.
If you have cats, you have cat barf, and it always falls where you want it the least, like on the expensive oriental rug in this cartoon. Cats rarely miss the mark when it comes to barfing on an expensive rug or precious piece of furniture. Putting an oriental rug on the floor in a house with cats is basically handing your carpet a death sentence.
Apparently cats just barf a lot naturally. They actually eat grass to facilitate it. Plus they lick themselves all the time which puts a lot of fur in their stomachs and what goes down has to come up, apparently.
For most cats, vomit is a way of life, but for these two… they seem to take real sport in it.
Last night I was trying to figure out a cartoon to draw for today and decided I hadn’t drawn evil cats in a while so there you go. Thanks for reading!
These things are relative.
Grinsane in the Cat Brain
If you’ve seen the TV show My Cat From Hell, you already know that cat therapy is a real thing. And while some cats receive human guidance to lift their spirits, it’s much more common for disconsolate cats to seek the help of expertly trained felines, like the Russian blue psychotherapist in this comic. A visit to a cat shrink is similar to a human one in many regards, except humans usually don’t scratch the couch.
The Meowing Cure
Just as in human therapy, the difference between sane and insane behavior is a bit subjective. As spring approaches and the snow melts I’m already dreading that my painfully sane cats will be going outside again to engage in normal cat behavior – birding, ratting, and scrapping with the other neighborhood pussies.
Thanks for viewing this week’s webcomic. New toons update on Fridays (and occasional holidays), so see you next week for more cat comics and horror humor!
They should really be thanking him.
Do Werewolves Carry Rabies?
Does Jason wear a hockey mask? No doubt these half-man, half-wolf creatures are capable of contracting this terrible disease, and some have even theorized (incorrectly) that the entire idea of werewolves originated from stories associated with the rabies virus.
Those of us who know better (horror fans) understand that werewolves come in many shapes and sizes — some are part of an ancient race of shapeshifters while others have “The Curse” that causes transformation during the full moon (people with this affliction often wake up naked at the zoo). Still others are ordinary people who simply drink too much and turn into complete maniacs. People with this affliction often wake up at the police station.
Tonight is a full moon, by the way, so make sure to hang your wolfsbane in the window and if you do happen to see a canined lycanthrope at the 24 hour vet, give him a scratch behind the ears and thank him for acting responsibly. After all, if you happen to get bit and undergo transformation, do you really want to start your lunar rampage hallucinating and foaming at the mouth?
Thanks for reading! Howl at the full moon tonight and check back next week for more horror comedy cartoon from Grinsane!
