Ah, glorious sharks, frolicking in the ocean, capsizing boats, biting kayaks in half, eating surfers like Skittles… no wonder we love them so much.
And just like us humans, sharks enjoy a tasty seafood buffet. Perhaps there are even Shark Maître D’s with purple ties when a ship goes down…
If you read cartoons on the internet, you’ve probably noticed quite a few shark-themed ones lately. That’s because it’s Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, which has morphed into Shark Week on the Internet, which has inspired cartoonist from coast to coast to draw sharks.
Razor teeth, spooky eyes, sleek fins (don’t eat them, you bastards). Sharks are fun to draw, no doubt about it.
Boats are fun to draw, too, like the ocean abomination in this cartoon. Incidentally, I just read that one of Betsy Devos’ yachts crashed into a dock, causing a teacher’s salary worth of damage ($10K to a 40 million dollar boat, yawn). Maybe you read that vandals are to blame, but until we see the video tape, I’m going with the most likely profile – drunk plutocrats. You know, people like the inebriated libertines standing on the deck of the sinking ship in my comic.
Apparently the damaged yacht is only one of many luxury boats owned by the Devos family, so our Secretary of Privatization is going to be okay, but still, think of the total inconvenience of having to fire up a backup yacht while the other one goes into the shop to get refluffed. Thankfully someone on board was sober enough to grab the wheel before the boat drifted into rocky, shark infested waters or we could have been looking at the most expensive seafood buffet ever.
Thank you for reading another issue of Grinsane! Tune in next week for more horror comedy cartoons. And, hello, OCTOBER ALERT! There are less than 100 days until Halloween, time to start getting those costumes and decorations together.
